Our performance
In 2024-25, the Health Regulator continued to strengthen public safety across the state through modern, risk-based regulation and centralised oversight of 14 portfolios.
Some key activity included:
- 81,380 permits processed
- 5,040 notifications and complaints received and actioned
- 183 investigations closed
- 1,148 cooling towers inspected in response to the July and August 2024 legionella outbreak
- release of the Child Safe Standards – Self Assessment Tool.
Beyond routine operations, we implemented legislative reforms to health regulation in Victoria. This specifically encompassed 2 significant initiatives:
- New Powers
- New Assisted Reproductive Treatment functions.
