Health Records Regulation 2023

The Health Records Regulations 2023 (‘the regulations’) commenced on 18 August 2023. The regulations replicate the 2012 regulations with minor clarifying amendments to regulation 9. The regulations are available on the Victorian Legislation website.

On 16 June 2023, the Department released a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) in relation to the regulations for public comment. The public submission period closed on 16 July 2023. Ten submissions on the RIS and proposed regulations were received. The RIS and a detailed summary of the submissions and the Department’s responses are available below.
